Prof. Dr. Khuda Bakhsh Mirbahar, born on February 28, 1953, in Sukkur, Sindh, Pakistan, presently serving as Vice Chancellor SBBUVAS was a Professor and Dean of the Faculty at Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam. He obtained a D.V.M (First position) and M.Sc. (Hons) from University of Sindh, in 1975 and 1979 respectively. Later, he joined University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, for post graduate studies and was awarded M.Sc. (1981) and a Ph.D. (1985).  In 1992, he did post doctoral training from University of North Wales, U.K.


Dr. Mirbahar has an experience of over 37 years (BPS-17 to 21) in the teaching of Veterinary and Animal Sciences offering a number of courses in Pharmacology, Physiology, Veterinary Medicine and Animal Reproduction at graduate and post graduate level. He has completed several research projects and has personally supervised several research scholars.


Dr. Mirbahar has worked as Dean of Faculty, Director, Advanced Studies and Research (DASAR),  Chairman of Department for over 20 years, Advisor to Vice chancellor for Post graduate studies and research, Advisor (Academics) to Vice Chancellor and President Gymkhana. He has served as member on various statuary bodies including Syndicate, Senate, Academic Council, Board of Advanced Studies and Research, Finance and Planning Committee, Chairman  Discipline committee, Chairman Board of Faculty, and  Chairman and member  of various Boards of Studies.


Dr. Mirbahar is a prolific writer and has authored over 54 research papers published in international and refereed national journals of international repute. He has presented his work in several National and International conferences in countries like Canada, U.S.A., France,& China

His academic and research achievements has earned him national as well as international recognition in the form of several awards/scholarships including Central Overseas Training Scholarship (COT) by Govt. of Pakistan, a Malcolm Award, Graduate Student Award, D.G. Ingram Award ( all by University of Guelph, Canada), and Best Teacher award (UGC). Finally, he was conferred, “Aizaz-e-Fazeelat” in 2002 by President of Pakistan in recognition of his academic distinctions.
