Faculty Overview

The Faculty of Animal Production & Technology comprises seven Departments i.e

Department of Livestock Production

Department of Poultry Production

Department of Animal Nutrition

Department of Animal Breeding & Genetics

Department of Dairy Technology

Department of Meat Technology

Department of Leather & Fiber Technology

The Faculty offers 23 courses (55 Credit Hours; 24TH & 31PR) at undergraduate level.

The Faculty has the mandate to modernize livestock and poultry farming and related activities to enhance productivity of food and fiber of animal origin and thus to bring more prosperity to the farmers and in turn to the nation.

Faculty of Animal Production and Technology also has a highly vibrant and supporting environment with equal opportunities to prosper,grow and develop. This is due to highly positive and able leadership that has been available in the past and present for being leaders in their respective disciplines.

The highly qualified,experienced & dedicated faculty members devoted to the cause of education in the country have made significant contribution in their specific fields of specialization.

To coordinate and cooperate with stakeholders,public and private sector organizations.

Development Activities

Renovation of undergraduate and postgraduate labs.

Establishment of livestock and Poultry Farms to provide opportunity to the students for hands on training.

Strengthening laboratories(undergraduates & postgraduate) with new equipments and instruments.


The vision of the Faculty of Animal Production and Technology is to develop and maintain itself as a premier institution of the University for producing trained manpower in Livestock and Poultry Production.


To create learning community in which students at all levels, and their faculty mentors, can engage in the pursuit of knowledge across and between a broad ranges of disciplines in the animal sciences.

To produce outstanding students with diversified academic and cultural back ground in various disciplines of animal sciences capable to compete at national and international level.

To improve quality of education on regular basis through curriculum development.

To provide a leadership in the profession of animal sciences with the ability to respond the changing needs of the society and animal science profession.

To improve well being of small and large animals/poultry and public through contribution in teaching and research.
